Wedding Season: Puff Sleeve Dress

The perfect spring wedding look in Reformation vintage

Wedding season 2019 has officially begun! If you’ve been following my blog for all of 30 seconds, you know I embrace any excuse to dress up. So I am stoked for another wedding season. I love experimenting with silhouettes and volume, and this year’s puff sleeve trend is the perfect opportunity. A fresh take for a wedding guest look is embracing the puff sleeve. You can do the short puff sleeve, or the long puff sleeve, so long as you’re aiming for volume and a little bit of drama.

The trick to playing with volume is balance: if you’ve got volume on top, go for a nipped waist or a short hemline. If you’ve got volume on bottom, keep your upper half sleek. Lest you appear drowning in your clothes. Which is a look that may work for Reese Blutstein, but not for moi.

I have also been very into espadrilles lately. I know they’re a classic, but they fell out of my shoe rotation for a few years. I think maybe because I was living in New York for so long, and espadrilles always feel very beachy and/or European to me. And perhaps I found them to casual and Parisian (?) for the gritty NYC streets.

Scroll down for my favorite puff sleeve dresses and darling espadrilles. Pair them together this summer will ya?
