Let’s get right down to business: I don’t always speak in hyperbole, but when I say you NEED this bag for spring, I really mean it. And the best thing about this statement is, I don’t mean a specific branded bag (“It” bags can go f*ck themselves for all I care), I mean a style of bag. The trend I’ve been noticing ’round town for spring (and beyond) is 60s beaded bags.
They’re feminine, adorable, bold, and perfectly kitschy. I’ve been pairing this bag with everything—black jeans and a tee, a linen jumpsuit and mules, and of course, this killer caftan. I first started noticing this bag style last spring when Shrimps debuted the Antonia bag. My jaw doesn’t drop often, but when I saw that beaut’ my face legit turned into the scream emoji. You know, this one 😱 .
This style of bag isn’t super easy to come by (yet), but I linked a bunch of different options below.
Side note: I bought this dress right off a mannequin without even trying it on. That’s how much it spoke to me. When I’m wearing a statement dress like this one, I usually keep the rest of my accessories relatively understated (lol, yes this is understated for me!) Less is more when your frock packs this much of a punch—some badass earrings and a cutting edge bag are all you need.
