Day 2 of my holiday styling extravaganza with Omnia Vintage is here! If you missed yesterday’s inaugural holiday blog post, check it out here.
One of my favorite parts of going home for the holidays is catching up with old friends over a drink or a meal (preferably pizza, duh). It’s usually been a year since I’ve last seem them, and the gossip is juicy. I never want to look too dolled up for these kind of things. There’s something so comfortable about not having to try to hard (or not appearing to have tried too hard *wink) when you’re hanging out with someone near and dear. But, looking like you’ve stylistically matured since those college dorm days is kind of a good thing.
My second holiday styling recommendation: throw on a rich-toned tartan power blazer to keep an otherwise casual outfit looking seasonal and sophisticated. Blazers are having a major moment right now—and nothing says “holiday chic” more than tartan. I honestly think you can throw a blazer over anything (please give me a wild suggestion, I’ll make a YouTube video on it). As an outfit topper, blazers really help make you look more pulled together, without appearing like you spent an hour getting ready. I think the key is in the fabric and structure of said blazer. The more substantial the fabric, the more luxe it will look. And a powerful shoulder (but ditch the shoulder pads) is always a good call. Keep your overall look leaning more casual than corporate by pairing your blazer with raw hem denim and a vintage tee.
Silly styling secret: push up your sleeves for that “effortless cool street style” vibe. Wear this vintage Gucci blazer to your next gossip-heavy-mimosa-heavier brunch by snagging it here.
