Spring is on the Horizon!
It feels like we’ve barely had a winter this year. And although that’s scary for obvious reasons, it’s awesome for this cold-weather-averse-California-native. I tend to wear a lot of black during the winter, so it’s nice to integrate some color back into my wardrobe. I’ll admit, maybe I went a little color overboard with this outfit. But when I saw that my Carhartt knit hat matched the liner of this jacket, I couldn’t resist. This is the jacket I picked up from Nordstrom during their (not my) President’s Day sale. It’s hardly left my body since it arrived.
I was really digging the neon orange and camo combo (I talked about finding these vintage camo pants here). Although I’ve never hunted, I imagine this is the outfit I would wear if given the opportunity. Only mildly impractical, but I wouldn’t be shooting to kill anyways. Not that I don’t eat meat, because I do, I just don’t have the heart to murder anything larger than a cockroach. And even in the cockroach scenario, I’d probably shriek and make the Mr. do the murdering. I’m stereotypical like that.
Anyways.
If you’re looking for some tips on wearing camo, head on over to my girl Valery’s blog. She is the absolute coolest and you should definitely be following her on Instagram! We don’t necessarily agree on every camo-related tip (I broke her number one rule in this outfit here, oops), but that just goes to show that styling rules are subjective—follow the rules that speak to you, and break the ones that don’t!

March 3, 2017 at 6:54 pmI would have never thought of this combination-it’s so bright and exciting! I also wear a lot no blacks and grays during the cold months…

March 4, 2017 at 8:40 pmYou are the coolest! I think you get a pass with the orange/camo/hunter rule that Valery talked about because they’re not touching each other in the outfit. So that makes it a-ok!
