How to Wear a Crop Top (Like an Adult)
By now you all know I’m a huge fan of crop tops. But how do you wear one without looking like you belong at a Selena Gomez concert? Good question. A crop top with the right silhouette, fabric, and detailing can actually look quite sophisticated. Pulling off a successful belly-baring outfit is all about balance: both balance of exposed skin and balance of volume. The more skin you’re showing elsewhere, the less skin you should show between your top and your waistband. When I’m rocking a crop top, I prefer to wear something fuller on the bottom: either a maxi skirt, wide-leg pants, or high-waisted jeans. A voluminous bottom half helps balance out a sleeker/belly-baring top half.
Shout out to Fame & Partners for these amazing wide-leg high-waisted pants. I just discovered this brand and they’re kind of blowing my mind. These pants are from their Anti-Fast Fashion Line. All of the styles in this collection are made-to-order in under 2 weeks. And they’re customizable—you can remove embellishments, shorten hems, and add or remove slits. I’m wearing the Preetma Pant, which are insanely well made, and super comfortable. And for all you spring/summer brides, they also have a wedding shop. And (if you’re still not sold on this brand), they also donate a percentage of their proceeds to charitable foundations that empower women. I mean, come on.

May 21, 2017 at 2:00 pmHow big is the scarf you used and can I, please, get a tutorial…your scarf is wrapped to perfection! 🙇♀️ Every time I think I have my skills down, I can’t remember how I did it! I have an enormous collection of vintage scarves I’d love to see get some more use, but I now stick, mostly, to actual turbans because I really only like spending 40 minutes tops to get ready.
Much Love,
Lou

June 2, 2017 at 12:19 amThis scarf is more of a long rectangle shape than a square, which makes it easier to turban wrap. The worst is when you finally get the wrap right, and then walk out the door straight into a gust of wind and it gets completely messed up! I usually stick to a scarf around the neck these days! I still owe you an email re: jewelry! xoxo
